What could be the reason - Kindly suggest.

Hi,
Can you tell me that your QAS and PRD have the sane SID and the schema.
What i get you need to go through System copy Steps.
Thanks

Hi ,
This is common problem after restore of SAP system.Kindly check your kernel level it should be atleast to level of your source system. So do the kernel upgrade.
Thanks..

Hi Mohit,
Thnx for responce.
I have dowloaded the files SAPEXEDB_185-20001024.SAR & SAPEXE_185-20001025.SAR, in some location.
I logged in through SIDADM & when am extracting the files its giving error as
SAPCAR: processing archive SAPEXE_185-20001025.SAR (version 2.01)
x ABAP.pad
SAPCAR: could not open for writing ABAP.pad (error 28). Permission denied
what could be the reason.
Hi Anjali,
stil the same error;
File in location with permission :
-rwxr-xr-x 1 mdpadm sapsys 8550456 Oct 10 2005 SAPCAR
-rwxr-xr-x 1 mdpadm sapsys 15100868 Sep 2 10:58 SAPEXEDB_185-20001024.SAR
-rwxr-xr-x 1 mdpadm sapsys 368998230 Sep 2 11:04 SAPEXE_185-20001025.SAR
here am logiing through SIDADM and trying to extract;
SAPCAR - xvf SAPEXEDB_185-20001024.SAR
getting error as :
SAPCAR: processing archive SAPEXEDB_185-20001024.SAR (version 2.01)
x R3ldctl
SAPCAR: could not open for writing R3ldctl (error 28). Permission denied
Rgds!!
'SAPCAR: could not open for writing R3ldctl (error 28). Permission denied'
Either, the permission/owner of this file R2ldctl is not sufficient, or SAPCAR is not able to uncar the already running r3ldctl.
did you set the permission/owner with -R option, so that all dir/subdir/files are with proper permissions ?
I hope, you are uncarring in some other location than /sapmnt/SID/exe
if you really doing kernel patching right now, just keep SAP down, and then do everything
Just try to follow this one, if you didn't see it yet
SAP Note 19466 - Downloading SAP kernel patches
Hi ,
Please copy both archives in one folder suppose KERNEL .Now run the specified command of SAPCAR .
Give full permission to both files as 777 and to folder KERNEL as well, check it should work fine.
Also make sure that you are running this command via <SID>adm.
Thanks..
Mohit
