Backup Failure

hi all,

my backups are failing.

The error in database is as follows;

+BR0261E BRBACKUP cancelled by signal 15+

and for archive following is the error;

because of this i am unable to sucessfully take the backup.what should i do?

Have you initialized the tape?.... error 13 seems to be a permission problem.

yes, i have initialised the tape.The tape library is maintained by Tivoli.this error comes in the end after saving almost half the files.

Hi Priyanshu,

*BR0218E Checking label on volume in device /dev/rmt0.1 failed*

seems problem with the tape.initialize the tape again and retry if errors then try in a different tape.

Hi,

me too got the same error, i checked the paramaete init<SID>.sap and changed the tape_address = /dev/rmt/1mn, before it was tape_address = /dev/rmt/0mn, check this in ioscan tape , for tape address.

Hi,

i have AIX server.

Hence my tape_address parameter = /dev/rmt0.1

should i change this.If yes then to what ??

Hi,

Through ioscan check the tape address which is set in server.
