Error installing Full Java Edition 2004s - Prerequisites Checker

I'm installing the Full Java Edition 2004s but the prerequisites checker returns an error on the condition for the operating system version.

I'm running Windows XP Professional SP2, according to the system requirements this is supported, but the installer return the following message:

"The following Windows operation system versions are supported: Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition, Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition, Windows Server Datacenter Edition (i.e. Version 5.2, product type Server). Current Windows version: Version 5.1, Service Pack 2.0, product type: Workstation. You can check the current version by running winver..."

Can someone please advice.

Unfortunately it cannot be ignored (loop), or is there any way to trick this.

Hi,

if you press Next you get a box with the message:

Your system does not meet some prerequisites or SAPinst could not evaluate them.The checks will be repeated.

Choose Cancel to stop redoing the checks and to continue the installation.

just press 'Cancel' an the Install go's on, this work on my machine.

on my Windows XP Professional SP2 the installation works great.

You can ingnore the version warning.

Hi Jacek,

I am not sure about whether the Win XP SP2 is supported.

The installation guide suggests referring to

http://service.sap.com/platforms. The Product

Availability Matrix for NW 2004s shows that only Windows

2003 Server editions are supported.

Thanks for your answer, but I saw forum messages of persons with XP being at step 15 of the installation process.
