Travel Planning: About Master Data

Dear all,

In the config, we can fill in the Travel Service Providers.

Do we need to fill in all the master data such as Flight (in Define Airlines), Hotel Catalog (in Define Hotel Catalog) and Hotel Chains (in Define Hotel Chains) as same as the what are in the reservation system?

Yes you have to maintain data in master data .

That means we need to get the data from the service provider such as AMADEUS and pump the data into SAP system by using transaction such as LSMW?

Could anyone tell me what is the common practice?

we are usually creating a non-Amadeus key, like ZZ-others, which is added to the top ten

...and if you dont use travel planning but only want this for reporting, maybe ask business if something like "top ten" providers per category will do. Otherwise you are annoying end users with awfully long lists including hotel chains he has never heard from.

This requirement is usually coming for negotiations of rates with the providers. You only do this for your preferred ones and not on a global level. So a selection should be sufficient. Pls stick to IATA provider codes anyway as business is used to this. Also available on wikipedia

Assuming I'm implementing Travel Planning, would you recommend me to get the up-to-date list from AMADEUS?

If Travel Planning is not implemented, you have recommended that we can use something like "top ten" providers, but if the user couldn't get the provider from the list, how is he going to key in the data?

Create a miscellaneous record?

Hi,

you dont need to contact AMADEUS for that.

We have RFTP_TABLE_UPLOAD avialable. In Service Marketplace /tm-downloads, you will find the corresponding files. Otherwise make table adjustment with client 000, values should be there. In that case, not all providers are up to date.
