I am installing SAP Netweaver 7.1 EHP1 Application Server instance (Java Stack only) . I am getting an error on Phase
33 of 36 i.e Prepare to install minimal configuration phase. The error
is:
Java processes of instance SBX/JCOO [Java:UNKNOWN] did not reach state
PARTUNNING after 20-30 minutes. Giving up.
WARNING[E] 2009-08-31 00:08:42.437
CJS-30150 Java processes of instance SBX/JC00 [Java: UNKNOWN] did not
reach state PARTRUNNING after 20:30 minutes. Giving up.
ERROR 2009-08-31 00:08:42.546
FCO-00011 The step startJava with step key

status ERROR .
These same above got in steps phase Start Java Engine. But I adjusted the heap size from configuration then installation phases pass through. Now same error is on last phase 33 of 36.
Please advise ...

PS: System Details:
Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition R2 SP2 [32-bit]
MS SQL Server 2008
RAM 2GB
The sap installation components are : AS java
The issue has been resolved by changing the max heap size from 1024 to 256 Installation completed successfully.

Please go through the troubleshooting guide. You will find notes regarding adjusting parameters and log/trace files to check.

Also, adjust your swap space to 3 to 4 times of RAM if it is not already done.
