Installing Solution Manager 4 error

I am trying to installing Solution Manager 4 onto a server which has an existing installation of SMD on it already. The play was to install SM4 and then migrate SMD to it at a later time.

While running through the system information check (this runs after I have input the path to the java component DVD and the location of the JCE policy) an is returned "type of instance in cache is wrong".

This seems to be related to SMD, the sapinst_dev.log:

Has anyone come across this, or have any suggestions on what might be happening.

Thanks,
