Is it Necessary SAP Adapter should turn RED when you disable it

I am having with SAP Adapter. Old posts here suggest changing RFC destination to 10 charachters etc. I have tried different settings bust no luck so for. Some people said change Disable adapter and it should be red and then again reset and it should be green. My SAP Adapter never turns red, it is either green or grey. Please help.

Hi Priyanka..
Specify the same registered program ID in the RAR and RFC destination.
SAP Adapter will NOT turn to red..its either Grey or green.
