Run two Bach jobs at one time

Hi,

When attempting to run multiple batches, only 2 batches at any one timewill run simultaneously (Is this a basis setting we can change?).

Can we run Multiple jobs at time.

We have 2 backgroung process.

How many i can increase ?

Is there any problem after that.

You can increase the number, but it really depends on your hardware. Can your hardware handle it. THis can be changed by your basis people and will require a system restart. Your basis people should be able to tell you if the system can handle it.

You can increase the number of BGD workprocess. The max. number of workprocess depends on many factors like memory,OS restrictions, SAP release,hardware etc. Please refer note 9942 for more details

You can increase the number of batch processes by increasing the number on parameter rdisp/wp_no_btc at the instance profile (Again, this depend of your hardware)

You can also achieve this by create a Operation Mode (RZ04) and assign more bacth processed by reducing the ammount of dialog processes.

You can run as many batch(background) jobs as the number of background processes allow. THis means that if you have 3 background processes available, then only 3 background jobs can run at a time. If you add more processes, then you can run more background jobs simulaneously. Check how many you have via SM50.
