Hello,
While I am trying to sceduled a batch job in one of my SAP system i am getting following error message in status bar
"Target server <System Name>_<SID>_<Instance Number> is not configured for background processing"
but mean time other batch jobs are working fine, if same time if i am sceduling as Immediate then it is working fine but when i am sceduling it in periodic then i am getting the above error.
SAP Basis Component: 620
Can some one help me out on this issue.
Regards,
Krishna Biswal
You actually do not need to select a target server. If you leave this blank, it will go to an application server that has a background process available to run jobs. Are you selecting an instance that does not have background jobs (check in SM51)?
Hope that helps.

Hi Krishna
how many application servers you have in that system ? Is it possible for you to check and confirm the following parameters in your system ?
For eg in one of our sap system:
Defalt Profile
rdisp/mshost r3lpar22
rdisp/sna_gateway r3lpar22
rdisp/sna_gw_service sapgw00
rdisp/vbname r3lpar22_ADC_00
rdisp/enqname r3lpar22_ADC_00
rdisp/btcname r3lpar22_ADC_00
rdisp/bufrefmode sendoff,exeauto
Instance Profile
rdisp/wp_no_dia 4
rdisp/wp_no_vb 2
rdisp/wp_no_vb2 1
rdisp/wp_no_enq 1
rdisp/wp_no_btc 3
rdisp/wp_no_spo 1
rdisp/PG_MAXFS 32000
rdisp/btcname is for background processing server
rdisp/wp_no_btc is for no. of background work processes
