Experience "Solution Manager-System with UsageType PI"?

Hi all!

Our Projekt is planning to install a Pi and a Solution Manager. Driven by budget-concerns the idea comes up to run the PI on the SolMan-System in a seperate Client.

By reading the inst-guides it seems to be possible...

Does anyone know any arguments against this installation and can anyone report his experience with it?

Hi.

This should be possible. I have not got experience doing it though, but SAP does it with their "Discovery systems". The ERP instance runs on say client 100 and PI runs on client 001.

When calling PI you just stick sap-client=001 in the query string.
