How to use material BOM in PS. what are the setting required for it.

Dear,

create WBS bom cs71, assign reference points to sub items and use same reference point to activity in assignment tab.

then transfer bom (cn33) and in transfer control define project definetion,header material,reference point,and wbs

element.

Result> material assigned to activities and order reservation is created.

then run MRP(MD51) > dependent requirement will create.

PR>PO>GRN>GI for sub material9mov type 281)

Confrmation of activity and GRN for header material is automatic GRN then tick Backflush indicator in material in

procrument tab of material.Material come to stock and actual cost will come.

Thanks for quick reply, I want to know that while creating BOM what shd be the BOM usage, we have selected USage 2 ( engg ) we faced problem that quantyty picked ws in negative.

BOM Usage

This key defines the area (such as engineering/design or production)

where a BOM can be used.

Use

By setting various indicators, you can define the maximum configuration

of the item status and define whether an item must be or cannot be

processed in a particular area (such as production).

Examples

A material is used in the areas production and costing in a company. For

each area, you maintain a separate BOM with different items:

o Production BOM:

This BOM contains items that are relevant to production. These items

Costing BOM:

This BOM contains items that are relevant to determining the

material costs of a product.

When you calculate production costs using a quantity structure, the

system automatically determines the BOM and all the BOM items that

are relevant to costing, in order to calculate manufacturing costs.

As i've told you that quantity is negative coz you have to produce that material or the header material should come to stock as the rasult of MRP run and it should GRn and come to stock.

Hi

Define Profile for Bill Of Material Transfer with BOM option as material BOM (path -> SPRO -> PS -> material -> BOM Transfer -> Profile for BOM transfer). Maintain the other settings like BOM Application, Usage, transfer parameters and constraints as per your requirement.

Now create a Material BOM in CS01 and assign this material to Network activity with required Qty. Now goto BOM transfer (CN33) Transaction and select the BOM transfer profile and transfer child items w.r.t requirement qty to PS.

When i am transferring BOM in CN33 i am getting the following error

No activity could be found meeting the selection criteria

Message no. CN153

How to solve this error

Maintain the reference points correctly in both network activity and BOM Child components.

When i am transferring the bom for the activity the Requirement quantity of the component value is showing in the neagivte Please guide me how to make change of it

Dear,

Quantity is in negative means that material has to come in stock and GRN should be done for material.It is header material

and have to manufactured

Check weather movement type is 581.
