Creation of Inspection lot in Alternative Unit of measure

Dear Guru,

Our implementation is going on in a Tube manufacturing company where Base Unit is maintain in KG & 100 % visual inspection is taken place & we accept or reject tube on Pieces. So how can we do this in SAP, Because in SAP Inspection Lot is created on Base Unit & UD (Stock Movement) also in base unit, How can we in corporate Alternative Unit of measure.

Hi,

1. give unit of conversion in MM basic data (Unit of measurement) say 1 kg = 10 pieces

2. add unit of issue as a Pieces in MM QM view

3. add in inspection paln Unit of measure as Pieces ( if possible )

Now during stock posting post the stock KG and now see in stock MMBE by changing the UOm as a pieces you will get the stock in pieces and you can now issue the material in pieces too.

Experts pl guide if i am wrong anywhere

What You say is simple function of Alternative unit of measure, It has not any relation with QM UD stock transfar from QI stock to Block or Unrestricted.

Can u check the Business add in

QEVA_ALT_QTY_INPUT

This allow u enter quanitites in unites of measure othere than the base unit of measures.

We can use "QEVA_ALT_QTY_INPUT " BADI for giving Usage Decision in alternate unit of measure.

When this BADI is activated, when performing Stock Postings, there won't be any change in the UD Screen, but when we press F4 key on the Stock Posting Field, a pop-up screen comes out and here we can input the quantity of the material in its alt. UOM maintained in Material Master.

When your lot is created in KG then UD unit/Qty as well as stock posting will be in KG only & that is feasible also.

sice you are doing payment in say KGs if you return that much material to vendor through RD.

But inspection or Result recoring you can do in differnet UOM.

Hi,

You cannot create Inpsection Lot in Alternate UOM. Inspection Lot will be created in Base UOM only.

Just guess whether Product Unit concept is useful or not. Advise experts!
