mime object resolution insufficient in BSP page?

We have currently a problem with displaying mime objects (e.g. jpgs) in BSP pages at customer. Customer complains about the fact that he has 2 files:

jpg1: 2048x1536 pixels = 527kb size

this file is converted with photo shop to:

jpg2: 301x314 pixels = 93kb size.

When displaying jpg1 in the bsp everything is fine, but with jpg2 the problem is that the quality of the picture looks quite poor, it looks quite grainy. When we display both pics in Internet Explorer e.g. there is no such problem, both pictures are ok.

What could be the reason for that? Any idea? Are there any parameters that could influence the quality of display?

Thanks, Dirk
