BO Enterprise professional for Crystal Reports XI R2

Dear All,

We have purchased BO Enterprise professional for Crystal Reports XI R2 (Named) licenses from BO. Please confirm whether it has universe designer tool kid or we need to get separate license for designing Universe.

My License Details :

1. BO Enterprise professional for Crystal Reports XI R2

2. Crystal Reports Developer

3. Solution kit for SAP for XI R2

Request someone give some clarity on the above query.

With BOXI Professional, Universe Designer should be included with the Client Install - i.e. you have to install the Client Tools on your local machine which then connects to the Server for authentication.

Here is the big caution - when you purchase Professional, you only have license for a single (1) reporting tool - Crystal Reports. To report on universes via webi, etc you will need Premium.

However, Crystal Reports can connect straight to the data source, without needing Universes and is much more efficient without adding the additional SQL layer of a Universe. If you have Crystal Reports, the only use (in my opinion) for Universes is to add security or adhoc reporting.
