Universe -Installation

Hello everyone,

I am trying to learn more in Universe creation and went through the forum and got an idea of what it is . I have installed

CR XI R2 and CR2008.

I would like to use universes for clients to create their own adhoc reports but I am not able to see Universe installed as a part in my CRXIR2.

Is this something I need to install separately and upload in the CR2008 - correct me if my understanding is wrong.

Please guide me here, thanks for all your time

Hi,

Starting from BOXI R2 version the crystal reports has also included in the BOXI Package. So While installing it will ask for all the different components like Designer, DeskI, WebI, Publishing wizard like that. By default all the components will be selected. But in your case you might only selected only required components. Check that out. For universe to open you should have designer.

Designer is the place where you can create/edit/modify/export a universe.

Hi,

I suggest you to install BOCIR2 along with CR2008 where you get all the tools of BO along with Crystal Report.

Universe Designer is part of BO.

Hi,

I am not sure that I got your point but as I understand it:

For creating the new Universe, you need to install Universe Designer first which comes as a part of BO Enterprise Tools.
