MOS-01012 PROBLEM: 'path' returned with '-1' which is not a defined as a s

Hi Sap Experts,

I am re-installing sap ECC 5.0 (system copy_windows 2003 64bits + oracle) after my colleague change the hostname of windows machine, because when his chaged the hostname the dispatcher cannot start.

I have an error in the step oracle preload actions, specific when sap try to startup.

Sapinst show me the error below:

ERROR 2009-08-26 11:49:04 [iaxxbrunas.cpp:269]

CIaRunAsUser::run_impl()

MOS-01012 PROBLEM: 'E:\usr\sap\LCH\SYS\exe\run/startsap name=LCH nr=00 SAPDIAHOST=pmla-dosdo-onba' returned with '-1' which is not a defined as a success code.

I saw the status via mmc and disp+work is died.

when I go to work directory, I have not dev_disp file and I cannot check what happened in the system.

I will appreciate if somebody help me with this.

Ok, I have found your problem:

main: rdisp/myname=PMLA-DOSDO-ONBA_LCH_00 exceeds 20 characters.

my recommendation, use up to 12 characters and not more.

I changed the name according to the sap note 611361 and 849423

check your START profile. it must be missing a directory or a directory points to a bad one..
