Infocube not available as datasource

Hello,

I want to use an infocube as base to load data in another infocube. I have generated the export datasource and it does exist (and works fine) in TC RSA3.

But I can not assign it to my ne infosource, it does not appear in the list.

I have already replicated my BW source system several times, but no result.

hi Tom,

welcome to SDN ...

try rsa1->settings->display generated objects->choose option 'show..'

and rsa1->infosource->rigt click root node 'infosources' and 'insert lost node(s)'.

Hi,

U can see the under info source --> unassigend nodes

and search starting with 8*(datasource name)

or

Goto Rsa1->Settings Menu->"Display Generated Objects-> select Show

or

right clck on InfoSource root Node and click on "Insert Lost Nodes"

I assume that you are gettign this 'not found message' while creating the update rules..

Did u use the F4, to select the cube? (or) is it not available there?

can you give us the 'error' message.. may be it can help us..

I have tried all thos things, not luck untul now.

What I did:

1. infocube (0PCA_C01) activated from business content

2. generated an export datasource => 80PCA_C01

3. created a new infocube (target one) and I did execute the replication of the source system.

4. create update rules for the new infocube, refering to the source infocube (0PCA_C01)

5. create a new infosource

=> here in this infosource I added sourcesystem 'myBW', but I can not find the datasource 80PCA_C01 in the list

I hope this is more clear. Do I need to do something else as well? the datasource 80PCA_C01 surely does exist as I can test it in TC RSA3

there is no error message, just when I do want to assign a datasource from myBW system, I can't select de generated one.

hi Tom,

you have no need to create infosource,

after do insert lost nodes and display option,

rsa1->infosource and try to find 80PCA_C01, use binocular icon, or check it's under datamart application component (sap application component->sap components->datamart), can you see any application component ? if not try RSA9.

The data flow is set between the 2 cubes by the update rule..

Did u try CUBE1->Right click-> Update data targets?

"Since that Datasource "80PCA_C01" already utilised I think IT CAN NOT be used again and for the same reason u are not able to see it.. there I gues..

Thanks a lot!! I found the infosource and there I could create an infopackage to load the data. That's probable why I didn't see it, it was already assigned.

I managed it with your help! Thanks. But I can't find the function 'update data targets' on cube1. I did it via an infopackage on the generated infosource.

Good to know that we have solved it...

But little surprised..It should be there on the 'Context Menu' on right click on CUBE1...

Anyways.. Both are same actually..

Dear Tom,

1) It generates the infosource automatically starting with 8ZMYCUBE.

2) Just create an Update rule and in the selection datasource as CUBE and ZMYCUBE.

I think that should work..
