hi mate,

transferred records are all from psa,

added records will depend of ods keyfields,

e.g from psa

docno docitem date zcustomer qty

001 1 01.01.2006 x 10

001 2 01.01.2006 y 20

001 1 05.01.2006 x 20

and the keyfields in ods is docno and docitem

so in ods data will be

docno docitem date zcustomer qty

001 2 01.01.2006 y 20

001 1 05.01.2006 x 20

transferred 3 records, added 2 records,

also take a look

hope this helps.

Hi John,

Transferrred records are those which we get from Source system . tat may be R/3 or may be flat file .

Added records - These are those recodrs which are get added to ODS .

now , this all is depend on update method.

1.If it is flat file load then no of trasnsferred records = No. of added records.

2. IF u had intitalize delta method then no of added record are diffrent than transferred.

I hope this will clear ur doubt .

Hi,

Transferred Record coloumn indicated how many records were tranferred from the source system to BW,means how many records were extracted at that point of time and another Column indicates that the total number of records added to your data target.these two cloumn vales may not be same for all the time, becoz if you have filters at the update rule level....in this case numbers records tranfered and numbers records added might be different.......

Transferred refers to the number of records that are transferred from the datasource (arrive in BW). Added is the number records inserted into the ODS. Both can be different numbers, like due to any processing of the data.

Added records refer to which is really inserted in ODS (your start routine, for example, can reduce the number of transferred records by deleting something!)

Ex

transferred records means the total records from source e.g ods. say data coming from ods

docnumber docitem customer qty

001 1 x 10

001 2 y 20

002 1 x 30 (3 records)

and your infocube has char customer and keyfigure qty, so

record added

customer qty

x 40

y 20 (2 records)

so here you have transferred records = 3 and added records = 2

Hello John,

Transferred records are same as they come from source system.

if the ODS/Cube has a lesser granularity, these records will be stored as summed values which will be less in no. as compared to transferred records. These are the added records!!!

thanks,

Hi John,

Transferred records - no fo records you get fro source system

Added records - No of records added to ODS

these two can be different depending upon many things, just to give you an example say you get data like

prod, prod grp, day, sales while your ods has only

prod, day ,sales

so transferred records will be summarised at prod level rather than at prod & prod grp level.

hope it helps
