SAP Windows Ora920 Installation error brconnect.exe Unable locate component

Former Member

Hello Folks

I have problem installing SAP R/3 Enterprise (4.72 Enterprise Ext2) IDES Version

The installation is under Windows 2003 server 32bit SP2 and Oracle 920

I did the correct installation from oracle database (i followed the guide)

and i patched oracle with "Oracle 9.2 Patch Set 7 WIN I386 32Bit"

Also one step before i had a BRTools 7.00 error, downloaded the BRTools 640

DBATL640O92_51-10004734.SAR DBATOOLS Package for Oracle 9.2.x

After this i downloaded vcredist_<platform>.exe from Microsoft web page and retry

I'm in the Database Instance Installation (non-unicode) and phase 29 (Updating database statistics)

and i got the same error

brconnect.exe Unable to locate component

This application has failed to start because orasql10.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem

This is a image the error

ah!

your OPS$-user is not correctly created.

Check if you can solve that using

Note 400241 - Problems with ops$ or sapr3 connect to Oracle

Cherios

As far as I have seen, in windows server, OPS$ user has hostname in it. Like

OPS$HOSTNAME_DBSERVER\SIDADM

But in your case from the list I can not see the hostname in the OPS$ users.

Please check note

https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/50088

There is a script attached to the note. ( oradbusr10.zip) ...Try to use that.

C:\Documents and Settings\c11adm>brconnect -u system/******* -f chpass -o sapr3 -p *******

Your Schema Owner is SAPC11 not SAPSR3.

Please change the password using below command.

brconnect -u system/******* -f chpass -o SAPC11 -p *******

Oracle Version: 9.2.0.7.0
. Parametervalue os_authent_prefix: OPS$
. Schema Id: C11
. Database User (Schema): SAPC11
. SAP R/3 Administrator: OPS$C11ADM
. SAP R/3 Serviceuser: OPS$SAPSERVICEC11
. Domain/Host: CHAVEZ-SERVER

Your System is using OPS$C11ADM user so change the password of this user..

Keep the both passwords same.

Hope this will help.

Thanks,

Shambo

> Also one step before i had a BRTools 7.00 error, downloaded the BRTools 640

> DBATL640O92_51-10004734.SAR DBATOOLS Package for Oracle 9.2.x

your problem is:

Those DBATools are

"Support Package SAP KERNEL 6.40_EX2 32-BIT Windows Server on IA32 32bit ORACLE"

The 640_EX2 kernel is linked against Oracle 10g, that's why you get

> This application has failed to start because orasql10.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem

you have to download the DBATOOLS 640, not 640_EX2 if you use Oracle 9.2.

It seems that SQLPLUS is not in the given PATH. Is it?
