SMSY System can't switch from TMS to SLD

Dear all.

we try to change the DataSource in the smsy from TMS to SLD.

We create the SLD and post the data of a system to the SLD. We change the automatic data transfer in smsy_setup from TMS to SLD and start the job. Before we start we change the system from TMS to manual automatic.

The Landscape Fetch Job runs, change the system to SLD, and all looks fine, but afterwards the Job start the part TMS read for all systems and the changed system was changed back to TMS.

Did some one know what can be done, is there a configuration missing ? Like Migration from TMS to SLD. e. g. the Database Server of this system was updated to sld.

Best regards

Hi Thorsten

If the system was created manually in SMSY or via TMS/RFC it may not be possible to change the data source

- the data source may have been chosen manually or based on how the system was originally created

In order to have the data source as SLD the system actually has to be "data sourced" from SLD

Assuming the system is listed in SLD you would need to delete the object in SMSY and re-create

it by running LANDSCAPE FETCH this time bringing in the system from data stored in SLD

If you remove the existing object you may lose any customizing associated with that object

- you may also need to manually remove any customizing that occurred in that target system

i.e RFCs etc - generally I do not recommend to remove existing system entries in SMSY

Hi Stuart,

well that's possible, but the "solution" is described in the note 1335819.

The last datasource is insert in the field of the smsy entrie.

best regards

Thorsten
