Hi,
We are forecasting new product based on historial values of another similar product using Like Modelling.
Now the product is launched and we have original data for new product also(new product data is availabale from June). Now Client wants to use historical values of the similar product upto May and from June he wants to use the original data for new product.
How to do this.
and also client wants for 2008 he wants to use data from one product and 2009 he wants to use another product.Whether this is possible in Like Modelling.(Using values based on Horizon)
Thanks and Regards

Hi Raghavendra,
1) Firstly you need to define the like profile
(transaction /SAPAPO/MSDP_FCST1)
2) Secondly you need to assign like profile to CVCs
with the suitable periodicity
(transaction /SAPAPO/MSDP_FCST1)
3) Then using suitable univariate profile in the forecast
profile, in the planning book, generate the forecast
4) It will generate the history for the time period

Hi Senthil,
Thanks for the info.
But my question is different
Ex.
A is the Forecast SKU
B and C are the SKU whose history needs to be used.
B HIstory should be used from Jan 2007 to Dec 2007
CHIstory should be used from Jan 2008 to Dec 2008
and A actual data sould be used from JAN 2009.
Whether this is possible. It is one of the critical requirement here.
Please do suggest.
Regards
Raghavendra
Hi Raghavendra,
You can try using the following approach.
1. Use the copy option in realignment to add data from Product Bto Product A. You can specify the sales key figure and also the period (Jan 2007-Dec 2007) in which to add data
2. Similary using copy option in Realignment add data from Product C to Product A. (Jan 2008-May 2008)
At the end of this activity, you will have sales data in product A from Jan 2007 onwards. Then you can calculate the base history and run the statistical forecast.
You can try this in the test environment first. In the above option, all the data from products B and C will get copied into product A.
Alternatively you can try for another option in the test system. Create a like profile by giving reference products A, B and C and using option S with 100%. Thus system will try to add the data of all the three products while executing the statistical forecast. in First try this in your test system. This was just a random idea I thought of.

Hi
I think you use the weighting profile concept that is there in the univariate forecast profile.
Assign this weightn profile to like modelling.

Hi Raghavendra,
Try realignment functionality either by copying the entire key figure values to
generate historical data of products or copying selected values.
