Hi Guys ,
Can you please let me know the difference in Tuple and Qualifier table in MDM 7.1
Thanks,
MS Reddy
Hi Reddy
Qualified tables are not supported by MDM 7.1
Instead we have Tuples replacing the qualified tables used till MDM 5.5
Tuples are more powerful as they offer multilevel nested tables and combination of different data types in the same table.
for more details on Tuple refer to the following link:

Hi Ravi,
Qualified Tables are still available in MDM 7.1 and they will be phased out in later releses but at this momemt they are available in MDM 7.1. A major difference between a Qualified Link and a Tuple is that a tuple can refer to another tuple (nesting) which is not possible in Qualified Tables.

Hi,
Both QT and Tuples perform similar functions but with following diff:
1. Through tuples we can maintain deep nested structures very easily, which is quite difficult to achieve in QT. e.g. Address>Home,Office>Home1,Home2,Office1,Office2>Diffenent fields,.....
2. In QT we need to store data in seperate Qualified lookup table b4 populating the main table record. But in tuples thats not the case. We store data directly inside a record and not in a seperate Lookup table. This save s quite a bit of memory usage space. Hence working with Tuples is more effective and efficient.
But as of now SAP hasn't come up with Standard import/syndicate maps for Tuples, but in due course of time Tuple will be replacing QT, as a better tool in data modelling.
Thanks.

Tuples are the improved version of the Qualified tables and are available only in 7.1. Qualified tables are still available in 7.1 but would cease to exist soon. You can have nested tuples inside a tuple.
