Integrating XI with United Parcel Service (UPS)

SAP provides the ability to integrate a Business Connector to UPS. We would like to run all of our external interfaces through XI. Has anyone set up an integration between XI and UPS and would be willing to share your experience.

hi,

if you won't find anyone with XSI interface

through the XI here's what you can do:

set up this communication with BC

(BC is free for download - service.sap.com)

then have a look how it's done and

move it to the XI

I believe you should be able to do it

without too many problems as XSI interface

uses XRFC (RFC in the XML) to pass data through

the BC (XI can do it too)

and uses http adapter (XI has one too)

to connect to the web - so it looks like standard

but you cannot be 100% sure until you set this up completely:)

but as SAP says in one of the notes:

"it is technically no problem to replace the XSI-related features of the BC by utilizing the SAP XI."

so why not believe it?:)

Dear Elad,

Yes, it is possibe to use R/3 <--> UPS / FEDex for shipments

without Business connector and XI.

We implement fedex solution with in 2 weeks.

We are also looking to connect our SAP implementation with Fedex/Ups.

I have a few clarifications which i am looking for

1. Which version of SAP CRM/SRM/SCM is your implementation on

2. How did you achieve the connectivity to Fedex/Ups, is it using XI/PI, if so which version ?

3. What is the business process your are following.

Kewill have created a XSI and XI into our multicarrier solution. I would be willing to share with you how we went about this and perhaps explore the need for other carriers than UPS with you.
