Netweaver 7.0 SP16 to EHP1 7.1 SP2 upgrade

Former Member

Dear all,

Currently we are running on Netweaver 7.0 windows 64-bit platform Oracle 10.2

and our SP level is

SAP_ABA 700 0016

SAP_BASIS 700 0016

PI_BASIS 2005_1_700 0016

SAP_BW 700 0017

We are trying to upgrade to EHP1 7.1 SP2. All SPs mentioned above should be on 70102.

I understand from Guide , we cannot perform this using SAPM/SAINT becaz running on 64-bit and this is not solution manager system. We must upgrade using SAPEhpi tool , i have downloaded the same.

But my queries are :

1) I dont have solution manager system in place for generating Stack.xml file

2) what should i provide input for Download directory ?

3) Is it full upgrade project and not just SUPPORT patch application.

4) Do i need to upgrade kernel first to 701 level first ?

Where can i find detail steps apart from Installation guide ?

Regards,

RR

I have guide with Title

"Support Package Stack Guide SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Including Enhancement Package 1 SPS 02"

This guide talks about applying patches from SPAM and JSPM and looks like normal patch application.

Is Upgrade from Netweaver 7.0 SP16 to Neweaver 7.0 EHP1 SP02 is different

and Upgrade from Netweaver 7.0 SP16 to Neweaver 7.1 EHP1 SP02 is different

Please guide me as it sounds confusing. Thanks in advance

Rishi,

I dont want to upgrade my ECC system , i have Netweaver 7.0 system

Lets take an example for basis patch.

My current support patch level for Basis is SAPKB70016

Target patch level is SAPKB70101

Then do i need to first install Add-in tool through SAINT / carry out Delta upgrade using

DVD 51033402 contains K-701DHINSAPBASIS.SAR

or Just Apply SAPKB70101 directly through SPAM over SAPKB70016

Target patch level is SAPKB70101

Your target patch is 701 so that means that you need to upgrade to EHP1.

You can't just patch via SPAM...

and in 64-bit system it must use SAPEhpi tool ....Is my understanding correct ?

Also i do not find any guide related to Netweaver in link http://service.sap.com/erp-inst.

All guides corresponds to ERP and not Neweaver .

Hello Ajit,

Answering your above question: Yes both are different

Upgrade from Netweaver 7.0 SP16 to Neweaver 7.0 EHP1 SP02 would mean Target will be NW 7.01 SP02

and Upgrade from Netweaver 7.0 SP16 to Neweaver 7.1 EHP1 SP02 would mean Target will be NW 7.11 SP02
