Hi Everyone,
As you can see i am the new member of the forum. I am a beginner in SAP. Please help me with the following -
I recently installed SAP on my system successfully. I have also done the post installation steps by activating default & instance profile. Now the problem is - I am trying to copy a local client and am being unsuccesful in doing so.
I first defined a new cleint using TCode SCC4.
Then i logged in through the new client using user SAP* and password PASS.
After this, i used TCode SCCL to copy the client.
However, when i tried to schedule it as a Background Job, then after asking for the printing details, it show me a message that says - The Backgorund Job could not be schduled correctly : Error no. 99.
Prior to this i even tried to run the Client Copy using the same process, with only difference i started the Job immediately online. But at taht time as well, it had showed some Table space error, due to which i had to delete that client.
What are the reasons for this error? How do i schedule client copy in the background? Please help me with it...
Thanks in advance...
- Sheetal

Hi Ashish,
Sure... Here is the Log Table -
Client Copies in Client 002 : 3
Date Time Source Status Text Profile Mode Test
23.08.2009 15:26:20 Successfully Completed DELETE Deletion
23.08.2009 15:05:06 Cancelled DELETE Deletion
23.08.2009 13:30:13 800 Restart Cancelled SAP_ALL Local
I am not sure what did i do wrong. I am very raw with SAP and just a beginner.

Hello Sheetal,
In order to resolve this you need to set up operation modes in the new system using RZ03.Check the link below:
http://www.saptechies.com/setting-up-operations-modes-2/
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/c4/3a5e76505211d189550000e829fbbd/content.htm
Make sure that the new operation mode has balanced number of work process distribution.
And then activate /switch to this new ops mode for usage.
Before doing this try a switch to dummy (though it is there by default) once again and see if client copy goes through. If not define the new ops mode and switch to it.
Once this is set you must not get the error # 99.

Hi sheetal ,
Try this ..
1- check Background process availlable
2- goto 000 with DDIC ....run report RDDNEWPP in then your new client .
3- then follow your steps as it is .
Please provide feedback .......

Hi Sheetal,
Can you try the following option:
1. For background job checking shedule a new job (can be any) using SM36.
2. Choose immediate option at the time of Client copy.
3. If both are working fine try again client copy with background option. I think there may be problem time setting etc.
You can check the server time clicking on system menu and select Status.
Thanks
