hi
My system is always core dumping . So i have to delete a core file in the work dir . Where do i check for the problem on the operating system . SM21 is not telling anything about the problem .I am running R/3 47 in HP-UX ..
It can be an issue with either the work processes (or) the Kernel.

It is possible that someone is killing the job from TCODE SM50 and when doing so is selecting with core, rather than without core.

Hi,
This core dumps are usually created when programe termiinations or when workprocess crashes. Its an image of what was in memory at the time programe crashed. If you didnt see any info in SM21 you can also check ST22 and workprocess trace files. You might get some information from there. You can limit the size of the core dump using limit comand.Just place a line with limit comand to your .profile or .cshrc or sapenv_<servername>.csh file depending on what shell you use
eg:limit coredumpsize 0m --> wont write any core files
Thanks
Prince
