activate Web access for SAP Server

Hi,

I need to activate teh Web access fro SAP Ecc 60 Server.

Please let me know the following wr to that

1. If i activate web access, would it have an effect on the network

2. What are the disadvantages and advantages of Web access of SAP over SAP GUI

3. Is it possible to activate Web access for Ecc 60 sysetm with AS-ABAP only

I presume you're talking about Webgui.

Anything that goes through the network have an impact on it... but it should be minimal as long as you don't have thousends of users connected at the same time 😄

2. What are the disadvantages and advantages of Web access of SAP over SAP GUI

You can access sap without a SAPGui... beside that I go for SAPGui any day, Some of the transaction are difficult to read and/or are not displayed correctly via Webgui.

3. Is it possible to activate Web access for Ecc 60 sysetm with AS-ABAP only

Sure, Webgui is part of the integrated ITS, so no java instance needed, just enable the service in SICF and make sure you parameters are right...

Integrated ITS will be there since you are on ECC6. You can check the status via tcode SITSPMON
