How OLTP (Online transaction Processing) is connected to MDM?
Hi,
An OLTP can be a source of data and/or a recepient of data. All depends on the business scenario you are looking at.
For example:
If you want to use MDM to collect all data from all OLTP's and then create a "unique" view for global reporting purposes, you are in the data consolidation scenario. In this case, every OLTP will send it's master data to MDM and MDM will use the import manager to load data.
If you want MDM to send data to each OLTP, then you are in the central maintenance mode. Each OLTP will receive updates from MDM and each OLTP will need to upload this data.
Hope this helps,
Dirk
