Hi:

We have SAP R/3 4.7x200 installed on a platform Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition SP2 and SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition SP2, all in x32.

Want to migrate to X64 maintain the same platform, that is to say, Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition SP2, SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition SP2 and SAP R/3 4.7x200, all in X64.

How can I carry out ..?

What is the procedure ..?

Backup/Restore or Export/Import...?

Thanks,

Christian.

Dear Christian Astete,

you can use homogeneous system copy method using database specific procedure ( backup / restore ).

Hi Christian Astete,

Your hardware should be 64bit.

1- as Markus mensioned you have to migrate to Windows 64bit as per note 960769.

2- then change to mssql2005 64 bit (check your Collation setting, detach the database uninstall mssql 2005 32 bit ,install mssql 2005 64bit and attach the database.)

3- change your kernel and database libraries to 64 bit.
