Client export/import how long will it take,do you need to turn off journal

I will be running a client export from our Production system (180GB) to our Quality assurance system.

Our Production system in on Iseries 550 with 12gb of memory and 2 cpu's

I have about 300GB of free space.

/usr/sap/trans will take as much space as needed. I do not need to make any adjustments ??

Our Quality system is on Iseries 520 with 8gb of memory and 1 cpu

Do I need to turn off journaling just like when you do a remote client copy.

Does anyone know how long the export/import should run for.

Hi,

my guess would be : 6-10h export and 24h import if the target is deleted already.

If you want to use remote client copy as you seem to indicate, it will be a lot longer and all downtime ;-(

turning journaling off in qas ?

it depends on you - I would turn it off ...
