Hi gurus,
i have a KPI which is having several components like
start date and finish dates and some key figures
when i tried to identify the source for them i got multiple infosources like two key figures are in one infosource like that i have around 7 infosources.
is it a good practice to create a infocube with only the components i want and feed them with these infosources by maping only the key figures and charcterstics i want and leaving the rest.
thanks and regards
neelu
hi Neel,
you can see some business contents are work that way,
some char/kf may set to 'no update'.
hope this helps.

If you can -
Please share the KPI details - Functional area (Sales/purchasing/Production)
Characteristics & key figures involved etc.
Then we can help you better.

Pradip

Hi,
You should first analyse if there exists any standard cube for your business need. If you can use it , you should go for it.
If there is a vast difference between your requirement and the standard cubes, then go for your custom built Infocube.
Thanks,
Raj

Hello Neel,
you should ideally try to find out standard cubes/infosources nearest to your requirements. Try to make few changes to these and satisfy your business needs.
but if the business requirements call for making totally new cubes, you can always map necessary & selective chars and key figures from different infosources to this cube.
but you only need to take care of duplications and inconsistencies.
HOpe it helps..
thanks,
