How r u all ?

I have been assigned a task to monitor JOBS in a system landscape like this....

1 DEV -

> 1 QA -

---

> 8 PROD

What are the needed credentials or questions i have to ask the client ??

what are all the issues we may face in this senario ??

have any one of u faced this type of task ?

Hi,

There are lot of things which are to be considered

when you are dealing with the job of monitoring.

1)what are the data loads that run on

a)hourly basis

b)daily basis

c)weekly basis

d)monthly basis

2)For the failures, the type of error tracking tool

they are using to maintain a log.

3)What is required SLA they have to meet for the

loads so that it may not affect business.

4)Is the data loading Job a 24/7 monitoring Job?.

Hi Sanjay,

You can ask the following question from the client.

1) What r the Jobs that needs to be monitored (List of the same in excel sheet) in D, Q and P

2) After you get the Job, Try search for the same using SM37 in all the three systems for the jobs listed.

3) Check the timings of the Job (when it starts and finishes).

4) Ask the client if they want you to monitor any other task which required the use of Transaction RSMO.

5) Based on these inputs u can start the Monitoring task.

Do let me know in case any Job fails, i will let you know how to tackle the same.
