Can someone please explain to me the differences between a Standard Organization Sturcture in SRM and the one HR organization structure?

We have our users assigned to two clients. And that has really confused me.:))

Moreover..how are the attributes affected/different in SRM and HR?

Please share any information...it will help me a lot.

Hi Trey,

SAP HR is the official company organizational structure.

SAP SRM organizational structure is the structure that you define to make your SRM process work.

If you do not want to maintain 2 different organisational structures (HR + SRM), you can replicate it from HR to SRM.

SRM attributes store data that in most case will be inherited by users.

These data are loaded when users shop in SRM.

This is just a macro view of the big picture...

Kind regards,

Hey Yann,

Thanks for the reply. We are replicating HR org structure from back-end R/3(4.6C).

We are on SRM 4.0.

My question was:how different is the HR org as compared to the SRM org.?Any notes/website

where i can get an insight/big picture.Because,i need to know and understand the HR

structure if i am going to work with it.Frankly,i am unable to know how a

user be in three company codes(our case).

Also, can you tell me...how the attributes are mapped to SRM from HR?There

are different attributes in both structures.

Please share.

Thanks so much for replying.

Hi Trey,

In SRM org Structure, you can have multiple value attribute such as company code (BUK attribute), cost center....

All SRM attributes are maintained in table T77OMATTR.

"Mapping" is done in the attribute value.

For example : cost center attribute is CNT

it is a multiple value attribute so can add as many attribute value as you need.

For example : if you have 2 cost center 1000 and 2000 for one specific backend, you have to enter :

T90CLNT090\1000

T90CLNT090\2000

where T90CLNT090 is the R/3 logical system name.

Kind regards,

Yann,

I know the attributes to be added in the SRM org. model. My question really is:there are some common attributes....but a different naming convention.Where and how can i map these values?I am replicating the org. and its attributes as well.

Also, any good notes, sites or mtl, which i can refer to....to help me understand the differences between the two better.Anybody, please?

Thank you for your input,Yann.

Hi Trey,

There is no link between SRM attributes and R/3 one.

There is no way (as far as i know) to map attributes between SRM and R/3 (except what i have explained before).

Which attributes are you replicating ?????

Kind regards,

Yann
