Hello Everyone,
We are in process of installation of ABAP + JAVA in HIgh Availability on windows server 2003 , oracle database.
Our plan is to install ASCS, SCS, DB , CI on node A & DI on Node B.
In Installation guide its given that " Central instance installation " is to be done on local disk.
Can anyone explain why we need to do central instance installation on local disk?
Can we install central instance on shared disk instead of local disk ?
If yes, any other implicaiton later on.
Regards,
maitray.
As far as i know know the CI is going to have the Message server thet is going to contact with the dispatcher and assign work process to it.So we have Message service running on local host and the Dialog is installed on Node B that is going to communicate with Node A thet is CI..
I think that is a type of clustiong that you are going to follow.
There can be many clustring .Idepends on you which one you follow as with the client.
Thanks

Hi
Have You findhed the installation.
SAP group -->virual ip address and virtual hostname
DB group --> virtual ip address and virtual hostname
cluster group --> virtual ipaddress and virtual hostname
These 3 groups you have to install on the shared discs.
CI and DI yo u have to install on the local drives.
you are isntallingin ASJAVA+ASABAP.
all the java related will be installed on the CI.
You can see the javaengine in DI also but if u want to apply the java support packages you have to login into CI.
and if u want to change any java parameters for DI you have to login in CI andselect the dialg instace to change the java parameters.
THanks
