Hi,

This bakup is not usefull when you are swtching cross platform. This backup is only usefull for only the OS are same.

For cross plateform there are other options, like system copy.

If you want to make exact copy in Windows plateform from AIX, you can do with sysem copy.

For that please follow the following steps for that in AIX machine.....

Run ./sapinst -

> there is option ERP2005 -

> Additional S/w LifeCycle Task----->

System Copy---->Oracle---> Source System---> Then as per you Installation (ABAP, JAVA or both) Whatever you had choose in that installation.

Then Next and that will ask for Path to Export that data. Before that minimun information is requied like SID etc.

When you Got sucess in save that it will in mult GBs as per DB size.

Then in windows OS installation It will work as exported data (mean with fresh installation choose this path in Export Path).

Your New system will replica of your AIX server, all data you get here.

Hi,

This is not possible to restore Oracle database on MSSQL database.

This will be a OS/DB Migration. Please check below link for more details.

Its a OS/DB Migration. It can be done by exporting and importing using sapinst tool.

Hello,

I don't think it is possible to use the backup from oracle DB to restore on MSSQL2005. You should use the hetrogenous system copy using sapinst to migrate the data. Refer the SAP System copy Guide.
