Problem creating new connection in Universe Designer

Hi, experts!

Problem occurs while I try to add new connection in Universe Designer. After the "New Connection Wizard" is called and button "Next>" pushed, the application (UD) stops for approximately 1 hour. Then all function works properly. Can I reduce this delay time?

It is worth to say, that the same operations made on server machine don't cause these problems.

Hi,

Ideally this operation should not take more than 10 15 seconds. Probably you can enabling logs to see why its taking such a long time.

Problem solved. It was needed just to turn off Windows Firewall on server machine.

Hi,

This is probably because of a firewall issue.

check with you administrators ( Business Objects and Network) if all port are open.

For Designer you need 5 ports to be open :

- CMS 2 ports

- Input FRS

- Output FRS

- Connection Server : this is the one that takes time.

How do I configure 2 ports in CMS, here on my server I only 6400
