Change Date format on Portal

We are currently running Portal SP16, but i'm having a problem trying to find out how to change the system wide Portal Date fromat from American to English.

Hi Ian,

if you are talking about ESS /MSS dates ?

That is done in the SAP backend system for each user.

I think it was under menu point settings.

We are using MSS, but the back end users look OK, they are in the correct format etc. Its the general data stamps on the pages/iviews that look like they are out.

What is the Java version ? Multi-language ?

What is the portal version you have ?

i see in the UM Settings (Sys Admin) for expired pw date

also the US settings.

I assume that it is an setting you do when you install the Java version. Now the portal has already the American settings and a conversion would not be able to read the "american" dates (12/31/06 would be read then as 12th day at 31st month in year 06).

Maybe there is a way somebody else knows.... or open an SAP note...

We've just upgraded to Java 640 sp16 and the Sp16 for the Portal. Although this was an issue before the upgarde.

What is very strange is the we have two portal instances on the server, one with english settings and the other with american.

are you sure that the Java version is the same (language wise)?

I don't have any other ideas.
