MaxDB-Trouble

Hello Everybody,

I'm having a huge Problems with the MaxDB Database for my ERP-System.

*ERR*
*-24988,ERR_SQL: SQL error*
*-902,I/O error*

The bad news, I have no Backup of the Database, because there's no sufficient space for it.

The second bad news, I updated my windows server 2003 while the SAP-System was running and a message appeared telling me you should use the original CD to restore the previous configuration version of Win2003 because the system is not stable.

The last bad news is that our Network Administration performed updates and has shutdown all the systems, the thing is that our system is running on top of VM-Ware machine.

After, the reboot has been performed and the system is running, I wanted to start the SAP-System but I got this massive Problem which I think will let me reinstall everything, what a thing.

What is the Problem with the File System and what's this so called the DevSpace, is it related to the VM-Ware ?

Ps. one another thing that I'm using the MaxDb-Manager v. 7.6.03 and my database is on v.7.6.02

Just saw that you posted the output already.

Uncompress the DATA foldes, database files should NEVER be compressed.

Hi Markus

Thanks for replying.

What's actually a compressed file, I didn't do anything to compress them.

They still have 9GB.

I think also that the Driver "C" is not a compressed Driver.

I can only denote that they have attributes i.e. AC

ps. Here is an important thing, I deleted the compressed files using the Disk clean up, there was 30GB of compressed file.

By should I reboot, actually it hasn't worked jet.

Regards,

Kais

Windows explorer -right click - properties - compress.

> They still have 9GB.

Yes - but they are compressed - which doesn't work for database files.

> I think also that the Driver "C" is not a compressed Driver.

Check it! The database wouldn't tell that the file is compress if it wouldn't be. Also check if maybe just the subdirectory is compressed. You can enable in explorer that compressed files are displayed in a different color (please check with your Windows admin).

Oh, I understand now.

So, the only thing to do, is to change this option.

I'll report back, if it has worked after changing the properties of all the 10 files.

Problem, has been resolved.

Thanks A Lot.

Best Regards,

Kais

Please check the files "knldiag" and "knldiag.err" for the real error message.

Not necessarily...

Please check above logs
