UNSPSC mapping with Product categories

HI Experts,

Can any one let me know why we use UNSPSC mapping in SRM.Once we map it do we need to do any setting in SRM.How it works.

KNowledge points will be appreciated

The OCI represents what gets transfered from the catalogue back to the SRM. Before it can update the SC in SRM, some data need to be validated, so in order to be able to affect the OCI data, there is a BAdI for this. To map the catalogue's UNSPSC code to your SAP material group you could use a BAdI for this. The BAdI is called something like "bbpcattransfer" I believe.

You can map UNSPSC category to your product category using bbp_catalog_transfer BADI

Hi Azad,

in one thread i came across this statement " When shopping through a catalog, make sure the SCHEMA and the UNSPC are passed in the OCI stream" what does this mean.

can you through some information on this.
