Hi Sunil,

As mentioned in the error either your Data file 15 is corrupted or not available for the database to lock, Hence the database is in mount state. For SAP to start and connect to the database it needs DB to be in OPEN state. Please check if the file is available at the specified path.

Was there an Unexpected reboot of the server or some activity that might have caused the DB to be corrupted? or was the datafile in backup status? If the DB is corrupted you might have to restore & recover it from a backup.

If the database was performing a backup while shutting down the datafile remains in backup mode. you can check the datafiles that are in backup mode by executing the following sql command

sqlplus"/ as sysdba"

select * from V$BACKUP;

This should list out if any datafile is in backup mode.

if you find any datafile in backup mode you can take them out of backup mode by issuing the command.

ALTER DATABASE END BACKUP;

then try bringing the database of OPEN status

ALTER DATABASE OPEN;

If everything goes fine try doing a R3trans -d as SIDADM user (RC 0000 expected) then try starting SAP.

Hope this was helpful

Anish

Hello,

Is it happening after a Kernel Upgrade? or after first time installation.

NiHostToAddr(www.doesnotexist0001.qqq.nxst) possible network problems detected - check tracefile and adjust the DNS settings

check host name/settings in hosts file and try to connect to database manually.

CONNECT failed with sql error '1033'

That means that your DB is not properly mounted, is either stuck in starting or shutting down.... As mentioned before stop SAP and try to mount your DB via sql commands the start the system again.

Hi Sunil,

There is some problem with oracle startup.May be oracle is not open.

Follow below steps

Stop sap completely.

Login to oracle

command prompt>sqlplus "/as sysdba"

sql>shutdown immediate

then start oracle

sql>startup

then start sap

well i followed the steps which you mentioned, and i got following output

Enter user-name: /as sysdba

Connected to an idle instance.

SQL> shutdown immediate

ORA-01034: ORACLE not available

ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist

SQL> startup

ORACLE instance started.

Total System Global Area 172656668 bytes

Fixed Size 75804 bytes

Varialble Size 83132416 bytes

Database Buffers 88391680 bytes

Redo Buffers 1056768 bytes

Database Mounted.

ORA-01157:cannot identify/lock data file 15 - see DBWR trace file

ORA-01110: data file 15: 'D:\ORACLE\DRS\SAPDATA5\DRS_14\DRS.DATA14'

SQL>

After this output i again try to start my sap mmc . But same problem followed. I got this problem after i performed 'check disk for error ' on my sap installed drive i.e 'D:'

Datafile reported has to be checked for permission and existance.

Besides, Check your environment variables are set correctly.

Your SGA shows 165MB of allocated size. What kind of database is this?
