access for one view of material master

Hi, as we know mat master consist of different views related to different depts. for qa view, is it possible to give access to only the qa tab of mat master of materials? pls advise what is the practice followed in industry to fill the different views which rel to defferent depts. is it individual view access or whole master data? thank u.

For Material master create/ change mode (tcode - MM01/ MM02) we need to give access of view dept. wise. This is the best practice.

Like. Production dept to PP view, Quality dept to QM view, Sales dept to SD view....

For display transaction (tcode MM03), we can give access to all view.

You can use the object M_MATE_STA(Material Master: Maintenance Statuses) in Role(Tcode:PFCG) to control it.

If you want to give user only QM View authorization, Set "Material Master: Maintenance Statuses" is " Q"

In PFCG,

1. you give the role name and description.

2. On the 'Menu' tab page, add transaction code MM01/MM02/MM03.

3. On the 'Authrization' tab page, choose 'Change Authorization Data', You can show the object name with menu Utilities-->Technical names on. Then you can find the object class MM_G and expand it, you can get the object M_MATE_STA.
