Not able to call RFC from Web Dynpro : RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE

Hi,

I have created a FM "Z_GENERIC_SERVICE" which is remote enabled. I have radio button for Remote Enabled and Start Immediately selected.

But while executing from Web Dynpro JAVA, I am getting following error :-

The function module "Z_GENERIC_SERVICE" cannot be used for 'remote' calls., error key: RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE

I am using fixed username/password JCOs and they tested & pinged successfully.

Any idea why this is happening?

Is it something that if FM is in Inactive mode and tried accessing, it gives this error?

Thanks and regards,

Amey Mogare

hi

check whether you FM is remote enable , when you go to the SE37 -> your FM name , in the attributes tab

check whether remote enable radio button is selected , may be this is the problem .

Hi Murali,

As I have mentioned in very first line of my question, this FM is remote enabled!

I have checked it twice.

Any other ideas?

Thanks and regards,

Hello Amey,

Did activating the Function Group solve the issue?

If not, the error is raised during runtime on access of the RFC. Either RFC destinations/JCos may not be configured properly.

Test the connections under the System Administration before using it in the WD application.
