How to Copy Cofiles and data files in IBM AIX

I want to take a back up of the cofiles and data files. i know the path is usr\sap\trans.

But we are using IBM AIX OS. I have no idea about AIX

Anyone pls give me step by step instruction to copy cofiles and data files to a flash drive or to a client machine in AIX OS.

Hi,

There are several backup commands you can use on UNIX platforms, but in my example below I use SAPCAR:

(log in as user <sid>adm)
cd /usr/sap/trans
SAPCAR -cvf <backupfile> data/* cofiles/*

<backupfile> is the full path name of the backup file you want to create

You may want to download via FTP (binary mode) in your windows system and then copy via windows to flash drive.
