its not compulsory that when you take whole database backup you take archive log backup also.

based on your requirement your can schedule archive log backup.

Why more archive log backups are taken reason is when ever server get failed we have backup to recover.

I would run 'online and redo log backup' instead of 'online backup'. And maybe leave away one of the 'redo log' backups.

Nikunj Thaker is right, it's not compulsory. But as I wrote in your previous thread, an online backup doesn't help if there aren't any redo logs. An moreover, you will get annoying messages as described in that thread

Hi Rgusain....

1 first go to DB13

2 then double click on the selective date when you want to schedule that backup. new window will open

3 on the first field select online + redo log backup

4 then execute immediately

5 wait for sometime it will start automatically

hope this will solve your problem

If you just want to take the archive log backup then you can do it in BRTOOLS. But you can use DB13 for the database and archive log backup.

The usual way: In DB13 choose 'online and redo log backup'. This way brarchive will be started when brbackup is over.

You might also run brbackup first, and brarchive let's say a few hours later. But then you can't be sure whether brbackup really is finished when brarchive starts.
