Regarding server

Hi all ,

Is their is way in SAP to define a connection without giving the actual details of the server machine.

I think This gives them the flexibility to change the server machine without anyone worrying about it.

Is their any such mechanism in SAP ?

Why don't you start looking at the other side?

When I was a system admin I'd create virtual network adapters on my application servers and made sure each application always had it's own ip address regardless of the machine it was running on. Another option may be investigating SAProuter to centralize this administration without having to change gui settings every time.
