how to get SAP R/3 Transaction

Hi All,

Do anybody of u know how to get SAP R/3 transaction for the Business workflow item in the UWL of Portal.

Using UWL we are able to get tasks, alerts, Notifications etc.

In the tasks tab, we will be having a list of work items from the SAP R/3 and other tasks such as collaboration task etc.,

If we click on that particular work item it should take us to the corresponding page. If i click on the collaboration task, it is opening the corresponding task page. But , if i click on the work item which is coming from SAP R/3, the Corresponding SAP Transaction should be displayed. instead of displaying the webgui for that transaciton it is giving the error as Page Can't be Displayed.

If any body is having idea abt this concept,please help me.

Hi,

For this i found one reason,

actually from my r/3 i was not able to run the ITS i.e., webgui itself.

when i try to use this url : http://obtdev3:8004/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui/! it is giving the error as,

<b>@@ Runtime error: Unresolved external function strwidth() declared in module sapxjutil!</b>

if anybody is having idea abt this, please put it here.

1. use FQDN when using it in portal.

instead of http://obtdev3:8004/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui/!

use

http://obtdev3.domain.com:8004/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui/!

2. check whether all the steps explained in this blog are done for enabling webgui in integrated ITS

<b>upgrade ur kernel in SAP R3</b>.

and also make sure the following profile parameter in ur R3 System (RZ10)

icm/server_port_0--->PROT=HTTP,PORT=80<instance number>,EXTBIND=1

icm/host_name_full -

---

>your host name i.e host.domain.com

itsp/enable -

---

> 1

Hi,

First of all thanks to both of u for ur response

I've already done the steps u both have given. but still it is showing the same error.

I have already activated for another R/3 Instance it was working fine. the same steps i followed for this also..but no use..

can u tell me exactly what type of error it is!

Hi Sireesha

this is due to kernel version u have to upgrade the kernel.

i'm getting same error in ITS after upgrading the kernel patch error is solved.

u can check ur kernel patch level using following.

log on in sap from system menu ->status->shift+f5

and verifie the kernel patch level.

pls provide ur kernel patch level mine is

kernel relese -->640

patch level -

---

disp+work package -

---

>125

i've checked the patch level of the kernel,

my kernel relese -->640

patch level -

and i didn't find the option disp+work package.

so how to upgrade my r/3 what patch should be added to upgrade. can u just give me the details littlebit clear.

Hi sireesha

since ur kernel patch level is 10 thats why u getting the error

download the following files from service.sap.com

go to service.sap.com/swdc

sap support package ->entry by application group ->

sap application components->sap erp ->sap erp2004 ->

entry by components ->sap ECC server ->sap kernel 6.40 32 Bit (or unicode if u using unicode)->windows server on IA32 32 bit

now from database independent download the following sar file.

SAPEXE_101-20000182.SAR

and from ur database (ie ms sql server)

downnload the following file

lib_dbsl_110-20000184.SAR

R3load_49-20000184.SAR

R3szchk_9-20000184.SAR

SAPEXEDB_101-20000184.SAR

uncar the all files in one folder.

now stop the sap server.

backup the following folder.

run and NUC\i386 at following location.

c:\usr\sap\sid\sys\exe

(means copy the folder and paste on same location so u can get copy of that folder.)

after backup paste the content of extracted content

in to following folder

run and nuc\nti386

(no need for disp+work package)

if u have any doubt revert me back.

if this can solve ur problem close this forum.

Hi Kaushal,

Thanks for your help. Now i've configured my kernel and i m able to see the webgui in universal worklist iview.

but if i click on any workitem to open on webgui, it is giving "<b>*SWK1 transaction is unkown</b>".

am i need to change anywhere the transaction code.

The same error is repeating for all workitems.

do u have any idea on this?

launch webgui from url

http://host.doamin.com:port/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui

now from here launch tranasaction SWK1.

if it's work.

check the setting in the portal.

Using the URL it is working fine, so what settings i need to change in portal.

can u give me clearly.

and one more thing is, can u tell me what exactly the SWK1 trasaction does?

swk1 is use for Universal Worklist Configuration.

which is buisness work flow tranasaction.

Hi kaushal,

I have gone through the notes u have given, but i couldn't find any solution to my error,

even i have given the transaction code property of UWL-SAP transaction iview as SWK1 but no use.

First thing is from where it is taking the star(*) before launching with the transaction swk1.

do u have any idea?

so I have no idea regarding that.
