Failed to copy R/3 materials to SRM server

Hello everyone,

I am in quite a bind so I thought I would seek your advice.

We carried out a system copy of the existing SRM production server and made the copy the Developmental SRM server. For the backend system however we took an existing testing server with different set of data/material the R/3 backend for developmental environment.

We ran BDLS and ran RHOMATTRIBUTE to change the logical system. However when we tried to copy the R/3 material master we had a failed queue in the R/3 system. We received the message:

Error: please refer to note 457707.

After searching the note it mentioned that one solution to this was “From the product master point of view, you can solve this problem by deleting the affected products and creating them again by means of a download.” Hence now we are mulling erasing materials and material groups in EBP and recreating it by r3a3.

Are there any issues that our team should consider? Any other potential impacts or issues that we should look into before deleting the SRM/EBP material/mat. Groups?

As always greatly appreciate everyone's thoughts.

Thank you,

Jay
