How to move data and cofiles from Sandbox

I have a transport in my Sandbox environment an I would like to move it to my Development system. The sandbox is not part of the transport layer and for some reason i cannot see the transports in the sandbox nor can i add them in STMS?

Thank you all for your responses, which were very helpful and i will award points. The other caveat to this issue is, I can't even see the data files and cofiles in the sandbox's IFS directory. I looked in the dev box, of course they aren't there because sandbox is not part of this transport layer. Suggestions?

Let me know three things..

did you go to \usr\sap\trans\data and \usr\sap\trans\cofiles folders?

Suppose your transport request number is <SID>K906239 , where SID=System Id of your Development system

then datafile name will be R906239.SID and cofile name will be K906239.SID

Now, you tell me two more things..

Did you release the request from Dev system? Until and unless you release the system datafile and cofiles will not be generated.

Is the transport request of "Local Change Request" type? Then you will not find any datafile and cofile either and you can not transport any request which is Local Change Request.

Hi Mike,

most likely your sandbox is a single system

=> no transport files ))

=> you need to setup a virtual system for exports or a transport of copies ...

Hi Mike,

we are usually installing the free tool /CONSOLUT/TP that uploads and downloads the cofiles & data files within seconds.

http://www.consolut.net/en/s/download/consolut-tp-upload.html

... then even appl consultants could do that ))

you login to ur dev server...go to usr/sap/trans/ then datafile and cofile folder...Pick up the datafile and cofile ...copy then to the above mentioned folder in ur sandbox..

in ur sandbox, run tcode STMS_IMPORT-->Extras>Other Requests->Add

Put the transport number and add.

Then import it normally..

hope this will help

you have to move the datafile and confiles via ftp to dev server. And then you can add the transport in dev STMS via Extra -> Add transport
