Hello,
I plan to upgrade my 9i environment to 10g, and wonder if there are no SAP download for oracle 10.2.0.4. I just found binaries for 10.2.0.2 and the patches to it up to 10.2.0.4 for AIX, but if I have to migrate to a new oracle version I would prefer to install directly 10.2.0.4 instead of having to patch it after the installation. On SAP service marketplace I have not found any download, and as SAP does not support you if you get your downloads directly from Oracle, I would prefer to find them there. Otherwise I take the 30 minutes more work and do the patching. Just wonder...
Thanks

Great idea *ThumbsUp*

No there is no "install source" of oracle 10.2.0.4 .. Just keep in mind that 10.2.0.4 is the patchset 4 for the Oracle 10gR2 database .. so it needs to be applied to an existing installation. It is just a patchset .. not a seperate installation
> I just found binaries for 10.2.0.2 and the patches to it up to 10.2.0.4 for AIX
That can't be true .. the things that you found for 10.2.0.2 is also a patchset and it also needs to be applied like the 10.2.0.4
-> Oracle database 10gR2 (10.2) is the installation
-> 10.2.0.2 is the patchset 2 for the 10.2 database installation
-> 10.2.0.4 is the patchset 4 for the 10.2 database installation
The SAP and Oracle installation / patchset downloads are nearly the same (excluding some response files, etc. for the installer)
Just go on like this:
1) Install the oracle 10gR2 software
2) Apply the patchset 4 to this installation (10.2.0.4)
3) Apply the On-Top patches for the patchset 10.2.0.4
4) Upgrade your database with the DBUA from Oracle 9i directly to 10.2.0.4
