Creating a transformation with a template.

Hello Andreas and all,

I have been going through a lot of OSS notes to search something for Transformation routines (I have created an OSS note for routines though). But I ran across these few OSS notes 936599 and 933533. Both these notes basically talk about creating transformation using some sort of template for transfer rules and update rules after SP07 (we are currently on SP07). I am not getting what exactly it means by creating transformation using "template" and does this by any chance is related to routines that used to be delivered by SAP in previous versions. Can someone tell me more is there any functionality by which we can do this and what is that I am missing?
